CSMC Model 21 double barrel rifles and shotguns are completely manufactured in our building in New Britain, Connecticut. When you order one of our Model 21s, we encourage you to come and visit our facility, so you may have an added appreciation for all of the time and effort that goes into every detail. You will see that we are not just a finishing and assembly operation, but a complete manufacturing operation. This allows us the luxury of having complete control of the product from beginning to end.
Our best customers are also the most critical ones that are aware of the craftsmanship that goes into our guns. Very seldom will you find guns that are prepared and polished as meticulously as our Model 21’s. We ensure there will be no tool marks on the barrels or receivers, and all preparatory work will be performed completely by hand. The shotgun that you order is custom built for you to your exact specifications. The wood, stock dimensions, barrel length, chokes, finishes and engravings are all tailored for you, our client. There is nothing like having a gun that you know is exclusively built for you, and the pride of shooting that gun well.
SPECIALLY BUILT FRAMES
Our frames are manufactured from a solid piece of specially produced Proof Steel. Utilizing ultra-modern engineering and manufacturing techniques after the machining is complete, we inspect all manufactured parts with state of the art inspection equipment. We then give the frame to our Master Gunmakers, where they perform the assembly, fitting of the parts, and polishing. They are then engraved and finished to the highest level. All Model 21 barrels are precision made. Each barrel is manufactured with the half-lug that is machined from one piece of forged steel. Mechanically interlocked barrels are another outstanding exclusive feature in our Model 21. The barrels are locked together by precision fitting dove-tail half-lugs in such a manner that there cannot be the slightest possibility of even microscopic shifting. Not even when the barrels are subjected to the severest stress.
AVAILABLE GRADES
21-1 GRADE
The Model 21-1 comes with a modest and elegant scroll engraving. The gun is stocked in “A” fancy wood, with custom checkering on the stock and forend.
21-5 GRADE
The Model 21-5 is beautifully balanced between a traditional scroll, and game birds with a hunting dog scene on the bottom of the receiver. The gun is stocked in “AA” full fancy American Walnut wood, with custom checkering on stock and forend.
21-6 GRADE
The Model 21-6 is magnificently engraved with hunting dogs, game birds and an intricate English scroll. The breeches and scenes are executed in a relief style. The gun is stocked in “AAA” fancy American Walnut wood, with an “A” style checkering on stock and forend.
GRAND AMERICAN GRADE
The Grand American is the highest degree of workmanship available. It features a magnificently executed scroll engraving, with the owner’s choice of gold inlayed dogs and birds in panel scene. The gun is stocked in “AAA” full fancy feather crotch American Walnut wood, with a “B” carved stock and forend.
SMALL FRAME
For the small gauge 21’s, we have completely reengineered a new frame for the 28 and .410. This is exactly a Model 21 in every respect; nothing has been changed to accommodate the smaller size. All the parts for the Small Frame 21’s are truly unique to themselves. We feel that this is one of our greatest achievements. Hunters and shooters that have received these guns are simply amazed at how sleek and elegant these small gauge Small Frame guns are.
.22 DOUBLE RIFLE
Our Model 21 .22 double rifle is even smaller than our Small Frame 28 and .410’s. Currently available in .22 rim fire only. Extremely limited production, they are an absolute marvel of engineering. People that have bought .22 caliber Model 21’s say that it is the most excitement that they have gotten out of a gun.
