First let me start by saying I have only felt this good about a product twice in my life. I received my 20 gauge Revelation in June and finally got to shoot it. The craftsman ship was the best I have ever seen on and over and under shotgun and I’ve been to the Purdy store in England! The color case hardening was flawless, the wood to metal fit to finish was amazing and the over all feel of the shotgun was incredible. Spend the money and get the upgraded wood, Tony won’t let you down. It was ordered at the Safari Club convention in January and Tony promised me a 6 month turnaround time and it was done in 5 months. Simply amazing for a semi custom shotgun. The upgraded wood I bought was unbelievable. My buddy has a $12,000 Beretta and the Revelation has better wood on it. This is the best firearms’s investment I have made, I can’t wait to order another one when Tony and his crew come to town for the DSG.
Now for shooting it, it felt great and shot even better, no failures at all, everything worked. By the way my buddy had to send his $12k Beretta back after shooting it because he couldn’t hit anything with it, a trip to the patterning board showed us the problem, the barrels were not aligned. After sending the Beretta back, Beretta ended up putting a set of new barrels on it for him. Several times we had to beat the Beretta with a rubber mallet to get the action to open, even after it was greased. Some grease and a couple of drops of oil and my new Revelation worked like a champ!
Again, this isn’t a purchase, this is and investment. These shotguns can’t help but go up in price. The only problem you might have is shooting it, they are functional works of art from start to finish and I must admit I was a little apprehensive about pulling the trigger for the first time but boy did my mind change once the trigger was pulled, nothing but dust if I did my part. Oh, I didn’t mention its made in the USA!!
Stop by Connecticut Shotgun Mfg Co. Booth at the DSC and you will be hooked. this is NOT a production shotgun, each one is individually built. Tony personally picked out the upgraded wood I bought.
Everybody in the office was great to deal with and answered all my questions during the construction process.
Buy one you won’t be disappointed.
