Second set of barrels, 28” with 2 ¾” chambers choked F/F. This is lightweight gun, made in 1927 for an Earl. Barrel marked “J. Purdey & Sons. Audley House. South Audley Street London. Made of Sir Joseph Whitworths Fluid Pressed Steel.” Magnificent prewar gun with outstanding miniature English rose and scroll, straight grip, checkered butt, has the earl’s crest on the stock, double trigger, drop point, perfect checkering, splinter forend, auto ejector, perfect screws, perfect wood finish, straight grip. Not a mark on the gun. Self-opener, this is the highest, best quality gun. Slight right hand cast, perfect bores. Tight as the day it was made, perfect drop points. Quite a bit of case color, nearly all of it. In its high quality Purdey case with label and accessories.
