James Purdey & Son - SxS, 12ga. 30" Barrels Choked M/F. 2 ¾", 1 ¼ oz, side clip, 3rd fastener pistol grip, and the original leather face Indiana rubber anti-recoil heel plate with a leather cover. This is a new Pigeon gun from 1925, it’s not refinished! It’s not unfired, but as close as possible! There’s no sharp edge wear, 100 % case color, has 100% bluing on the barrel and trigger guard, double trigger, auto ejector, Purdey’s stippled raised rib, Wentworth’s Fluid Pressed steel barrels, the gun is accompanied by a letter from T. D. S. Purdey Chairman/ Director from 1948 that describes the gun and gives him a Purdey booklet to go with it. The gun as it was made , is verified exactly to the letter. The original Purdey letter from 1948 is included with gun. Never been apart or touched! Virtually a new gun from the best era of Purdey shotguns! Checkering so sharp you could cut your finger on it, the oval is vacant, it’s tight as the day it was made. The case color is brilliant! Still has all the fire bluing on the pins. A better Pigeon gun Theres not one! Purdey snap caps, container for bone firing pin, container with extra firing pins, Purdey labels, brass mounted Oak and Leather case. No disappointment just perfection! The asking price represents a fraction of what this gun costs new! The quality and condition from 1925 aren’t even comparable and everybody agrees! Just a pleasure to see a gun like this! and then being the advanced heavy proof gun makes it even more fascinating! Unaltered and perfect as the day It was made!
